This page contains answers to common questions handled by our support staff, along with some tips and tricks that we have found useful and have presented here as questions.

 

Note: In these answers we will follow a few shorthand conventions for describing user-interface procedures. Key combinations will be presented like this: Ctrl+Alt+Delete, which means that you should press and hold down the Control key, the Alt key, and the Delete key at the same time. Menu selections will be presented like this: File->Open, which means that you should open the File menu, and then make the Open selection.

How do I install the new version of Lodgical Solution for windows? Changes made to the programs are available on our FTP site. Simply go to the Update section of the software and follow the instructions. This download should be done periodically to insure that you have the most current tools available.

 

How do I install a default printer on the computer? All of our programs require that your operating system have a default printer installed. Go to the Start menu, then to Settings, and then to Printers. There select Install new printer. Please note: this only needs to be done if you do not have a printer installed.

 

How do I set up an icon on my desk top for Lodgical Solution or any of the InnLine programs? Simply click on the Right mouse button while your arrow is on the desktop of Windows. Then select New, Shortcut. Then click on Browse, and locate the Lodgical or InnLine program you are creating a shortcut to. Please note, this shortcut can be pointing to a copy of the software located on the server, or any other machine on your network.

Where can I find lodgical program files? They are located on the FTP site of our support pages.

 

Where can I find documentation on the Lodgical Solution software? The documentation is included at the time of software installation. After installation, the documentation can be viewed using Microsoft Word, and is found in the directory where the Lodgical Solution software was loaded. If the computer does not have Word, you may use WordPad which is included on all new installations of Windows 95, 98 and XP. Otherwise, load the file using the word processor that is installed on your computer, and import the file.

Why doesn't the phone call list show the calls from today? There are many possible causes for this problem. First, is your Commlog running? Second, did you re-boot your computer? Third, check the date and time on both your computer and on your phone system. And finally, is your cable connected? If all of these have been tested, and you still have no data, then there is a problem with either your computer hardware or your phone system. At Bay Lakes, we have testers for sale for $15 that can easily determine the location of the problem. We suggest that you purchase one of these test units prior to experiencing problems. The cost of an inexpensive tester is money well spent! You will save many times the cost of just one trouble call, in addition to saving your valuable time.

 

Why doesn't my program start when I click on the shortcut to Lodgical Solution? Most likely your problem is with the mapping of your network drive. Lodgical uses a common drive on your computer ( usually O:\ ). Right mouse click on your Network Neighborhood, and go to Map Network Drive. Then go to your common drive, and make sure the connection is properly associated to this logical drive.
